Vigilance Department arrested a female senior stenographer including two EOs from across the district.
The Vigilance Department in a major complaint in the year 2017 not only raided various Municipal Councils of District Gurdaspur but also arrested a female senior stenographer including two EOs from across the district. Among the officers arrested during the departmental operation were Bhupinder Singh, CEO, Fatehgarh Churian, Ashok Kumar, CEO, Municipal Council, Gurdaspur and Savita Rani, Senior Stenographer, Municipal Council, Batala.
Elaborating further, the complainant and Harinder Singh Kalsi, a resident of Batala who had been the Vice President of Batala Municipal Council in 2017, said that he had lodged a complaint with the Vigilance Department in 2017 against the President of the local Municipal Council. After investigating every aspect of which, the vigilance department has taken a drastic step like arresting the officers.
