Ordering the Punjab government to resume toll plazas, the High Court sought a status report

The Punjab-Haryana High Court has issued a notice to the state government and ordered to restart the toll plaza. The High Court has given instructions to the Chief Secretary and DGP and asked for its status report, but the farmers are still against it and have demanded to stop the toll in the country. In fact, since December 15, 13 toll plazas of Punjab have been completely closed by farmers.

The farmers are angry with the state government over their demands, after which it was decided to keep the toll plaza closed till January 15. Although the farmers have said to open the toll from January 16, but before that the National Highway Authority (NHA) had approached the High Court.

The farmers’ unions say that the NHA itself cannot go to court. This has happened on the behest of the Centre. The Center has always seen the loss of big houses. Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee leader Sarwan Singh Pandher said that the stand of farmers is clear. There should be no toll plazas in the country. A road tax of Rs 2-2 lakh is charged while buying a car. In such a situation, it is wrong to build a toll plaza.
