Due to the continuous snowfall on the mountains, the cold is continuously increasing in Punjab. Since Monday morning, the temperature has dropped significantly due to dense fog. On Monday morning, the temperature of Bathinda was recorded lower than that of Shimla. Along with this, the temperature of 13 cities and towns of Punjab has been recorded 6.5 degrees below the minimum temperature of Shimla. The Meteorological Department has warned of fog in most areas of Punjab for the next 5 days.
According to the data released by the Meteorological Department in the morning, the minimum temperature of Bathinda was recorded at 2.6 degrees. It is 2.3 degrees below normal. The morning temperature in Ludhiana was recorded at 4.2 degrees, which is 2.3 degrees below normal. Similarly, Moga also recorded a minimum temperature of 4.6 degrees. Due to snowfall on the mountains, the Meteorological Department has issued a cold wave warning across North India. A yellow alert has been issued by the Meteorological Department in Punjab till December 23.
