In March itself will be affected by the scorching heat, the temperature can be up to 40 degrees: Meteorological Department

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the maximum temperature is expected to be three to five degrees above normal in the next two days in northwest, central and eastern India. Many parts of the country are already recording high temperatures, which are usually recorded in the first week of March. This has raised concerns about intense heat and heatwaves this year.

“The maximum temperature is likely to be three to five degrees Celsius above normal over most parts of northwest, central and east India during the next two days,” the IMD said in a statement. In the first fortnight of March, the mercury may rise up to 40 °C and above in one or two meteorological subdivisions of northwest India.
