Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today offered prayers for the peace, progress and prosperity of the state by paying obeisance at the famous Shaktipeeth Sri Devi Talab Mandir and Sri Mahalakshmi Mandir in Jalandhar on the occasion of Mahashivratri. The Chief Minister, who visited the temples this afternoon, wished the people on the occasion of Mahashivratri. He said that Mahashivratri inspires people to strive for the realization of truth, which leads to the supreme consciousness represented by Lord Shiva.
Bhagwant Mann said that the festival emphasizes the values of piety, devotion, mutual love and harmony, which are known as the bedrock of the great Indian civilization. The Chief Minister offered pooja at the Shivalay at Sri Mahalakshmi Temple. On this occasion, he expressed hope that these festivals will further strengthen the spirit of brotherhood in the state. He said that this festival will usher in a new era of peace and harmony among all sections of the society.
