A hearing was held in the Punjab and Haryana High Court on the petition filed by SGPC against Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim. Taking cognizance of the SGPC’s petition, the High Court has issued a notice against the Haryana government, the Punjab government, the central government and Dera chief Ram Rahim. Now the next hearing of this matter will be held on February 21. Ram Rahim’s difficulties seem to be increasing after the hearing on the SGPC’s petition in the High Court.
Advocate Paramjit Singh Hundal, who is representing the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, says that he told the court that Dera chief Ram Rahim falls under the category of a hardened criminal, which is why giving him parole would be a violation of Punjab’s law. There is a threat of disruption of the peace. Advocate Paramjit Singh says that Ram Rahim’s parole has hurt the sentiments of Sikhs. Ram Rahim has hurt the sentiments of Sikhs many times.
