There is a new revelation in the Shraddha murder case. According to the police chargesheet, Aftab Poonawala used a blow torch to mutilate the face and head of his live-in partner Shraddha Walker after killing her. Aftab admitted that his previous revelation of burning Shraddha’s ashes and grinding them in a grinding machine was to mislead the police.
The 6,600-page police charge sheet said that Aftab told the police in his new confession that on the night of the murder, he went to a hardware store near his home and bought a saw, three blades, a hammer and a plastic clip. He took Shraddha’s body to the bathroom and cut her hands with a saw and then put it in a polythene bag. He kept these bags in the lower cabinet of his kitchen.
The next day at around 2 am, he located the foot part of Shraddha’s body in the Chhatarpur forest area of Delhi. Over the next 4-5 days, Aftab cut Shraddha’s body into 35 pieces and kept them in a 300-litre refrigerator for about 3 weeks at his home in south Delhi’s Mehrauli to prevent them from rotting. He fixed his body parts one by one. The chargesheet also said that Aftab had diffused Shraddha’s phone in Mumbai. In the polygraph and narco test conducted at the end of last year, Aftab had admitted to the murder.
