Famous Punjabi singer Daler Singh Mehndi has filed a petition in the Punjab-Haryana High Court for renewal of his passport. On the petition, the High Court has issued a notice to the Ministry of External Affairs and sought its response. In the petition, Daler Mehndi told the High Court that he has to attend a program to be held abroad. His passport is valid only till March 16 and he has applied for its renewal at the local passport office and the decision is yet to be taken.
The petitioner has appealed to the High Court to issue an order for the renewal of his passport. The High Court, while hearing the petition, said that his application is pending with the Union Ministry of External Affairs/Regional Passport Officer of Delhi and he has not been made a party in the petition, so he should be made a party in this petition first.
