There was an encounter between police and gangsters in Jagraon. The gangsters had come to collect the ransom money from the grocer. In the encounter, one gangster was shot in the leg while the other managed to escape on a bike. The gangsters are accomplices of terrorist Arsh Dalla. They demanded a ransom of 30 lakhs from the businessman.
The deal was finalized in both of them for 1.50 lakhs. The injured gangster has been identified as Jagtar Singh, a resident of village Feruke in Ferozepur. He is undergoing treatment at the Civil Hospital. No official statement has come out regarding the matter. Afraid of the threat of ransom, the businessman was not even going to his shop for many days.

On January 12, Arash Dalla called the furniture trader of Jagraon and demanded a ransom of 30 lakhs, after which the police gave security to the trader.
