Assembly Elections: Voting in Tripura on February 16, Meghalaya and Nagaland on February 27, results to come on March 2

The Election Commission has announced the dates for the assembly elections in Tripura, Meghalaya and Nagaland today. Elections will be held in two phases like last time in all the three states. Tripura will vote on February 16 and Nagaland and Meghalaya will vote on February 27. The results of the three states will be declared on March 2. There are 2315 booths in Nagaland, 3482 in Meghalaya and 3328 in Tripura. Web casting will be done at 50 percent polling booths. The Election Commission said that the number of women voters has increased in the three states.

Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar said that all the three states were visited by Election Commission officials. During this, he met with the administrative officials there. Meanwhile he gave feedback. He said that there are some states where incidents of violence are seen before and after the elections. Let us tell you that where there is a BJP government in Tripura, in Meghalaya and Nagaland, the BJP is part of the ruling alliance. There are 60 assembly seats in all the three states.
