Bathinda: Sub-inspector arrested red-handed for taking 50,000 bribe by threatening to implicate him in the case

The Vigilance Bureau today caught Sub-Inspector (SI) Baljitpal Singh red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 50,000, posted at Thana Mor, Bathinda. The Vigilance spokesperson said that the accused employee has been arrested on the basis of the complaint of the complainant Rakesh Kumar resident of Pratap Nagar, Bathinda city.

He said that the complainant approached the Vigilance Bureau and alleged that the said police officer had demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000 by threatening to implicate him in the investigation of the police complaint. The complainant further stated that the accused policeman took Rs 20,000 from him in the morning and is demanding the rest of the money. Rakesh Kumar recorded the entire conversation giving this amount of bribe as evidence.

The said accused police officer threatened the complainant that he has been transferred to another police station, but if he does not pay the bribe before leaving, he will nominate the complainant and his relatives in a police case. .
