After Corona, a new deadly disease has struck in Korea. South Korea has reported its first case of Naegleria foleri infection. Naegleria fowleri infection is also known colloquially as the “brain-eating amoeba”. According to media reports, a 50-year-old Korean national returning from Thailand died 10 days after developing symptoms of the deadly infection.
According to the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA), the man spent four months in Thailand before entering South Korea on December 10. According to the information, after a day, the person started having headache, vomiting, stiffness in the neck. After this, he was admitted to the emergency room where he died during the treatment.
