Kabul: An explosion in an oil tanker in a tunnel, 19 people died, 32 were injured

19 people were killed and 32 others were injured when an oil tanker exploded in a tunnel in the Afghan capital, Kabul. This Salang tunnel is about 80 miles north of Kabul. It was built in 1960. It was built to support the Soviet invasion. It is an important link in the north and south of the country. Said Himtullah Shamim, spokesperson of Prawan province, said that a day ago there was an explosion in the tunnel in which 19 people including women and children died.

There are 5 women and 2 children among the dead. The rest of the men suffered severe burns and have not been identified and teams are still working to clear the tunnel.
