In Ajit Nagar area of Kapurthala, Punjab, 27-year-old Gurwinder Singh committed suicide by hanging himself in his room on Saturday. Due to the downturn in the business, the young man was troubled and according to his relatives, he committed suicide because of this. Ishru Prasad, investigating officer of Thana City, has taken the body into possession and kept it in the civil hospital mortuary for post-mortem. Further action will be taken on the basis of the statements of the father.
Major Singh, a resident of Ajit Nagar, father of the deceased youth Gurwinder Singh, told the police that he does welding work. On December 9, he and his son Gurwinder Singh went to Jalandhar to do welding work. In the evening, Gurvinder returned home and slept in his room after having dinner. In the morning, when the little boy Gurpreet Singh knocked on the door of Gurwinder’s room, he did not open the door.
