After the new district jail of Nabha, now 217 inmates of the central jail of Patiala have been found victims of hepatitis-C (black jaundice). This revelation has been made in a large-scale investigation in Patiala Jail. A senior jail official has confirmed this on condition of anonymity. He said that other necessary tests of these prisoners suffering from Hepatitis-C will also be conducted. This will make it clear to what extent the virus of this disease has spread in the body. Immediately after this the treatment process will be started.
It may be mentioned that recently 800 prisoners and prisoners were also tested in the new district jail of Nabha. 148 prisoners were found to be hepatitis-C patients.
