Hearing on public interest petition against NIA today: The work of High Court lawyers has been stopped for several days

A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed in the Punjab and Haryana High Court against the National Investigation Agency (NIA) raid at the house of a Chandigarh woman lawyer is being heard today. On October 18, the house and office of Advocate Dr. Shelley Sharma located in Sector 27 was raided at 6.30 am. Women lawyers advocate in cases of famous gangsters of Punjab.

The investigative agency had conducted raids in many parts of the country while working on the gangster-terrorist nexus. The lawyers of the Chandigarh District Court, along with the High Court Bar Association, have stopped the court work for several days against this raid at the advocate’s house. The NIA had also seized the mobile phone of the woman lawyer, which the lawyers are demanding to be released.
