Farmers will not burn straw if the central government gives a concrete solution to the problem: Bhagwant Maan

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has promised to make Punjab free from stubble burning by the next paddy season. He said that he will leave no stone unturned till the next season. Mann said that the government in the state is working on a multi-pronged strategy and is already working with agricultural experts and farmer unions to find a concrete solution to this problem.

CM Mann said that the state government has already provided 120 lakh machines for the proper management of paddy straw and since it is a problem of the entire North India, the central government should intervene for a joint solution of this matter by all the affected states.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is encouraging farmers to adopt crop diversification. He said that the central government should give a beneficial support price for these crops. Bhagwant Mann said that this will encourage farmers to adopt alternative crops and help solve this problem.
