In the meeting, a decision was taken to observe state mourning in Gujarat on November 2 to express grief over the accident. On this day, the national flag will be flown at half-mast on government buildings in the state.

Prime Minister Modi will visit Morbi tomorrow afternoon. The police have started action against the culprits of the accident. On Monday, two managers of Oreval Company, which maintains the bridge, two contractors who are repairing the bridge, two ticket clerks and three security guards were arrested. After the accident, an alert has also been issued for Atal Bridge in Ahmedabad. Only 3,000 people can go here in 1 hour.

Rajkot Range IG Ashok Kumar said that a team of 50 people has been involved in the bridge accident. Those responsible for the accident will be arrested soon. The IG said that so far those whose role has come to light have been arrested.

The death toll in Gujarat’s Morbi bridge accident has reached 134 in the morning. 45 of them are below 18 years of age. Among the deceased, the number of women and elderly people is high. 170 people have been rescued. The accident took place at 6.30 pm on Sunday when the 765 feet long and only 4.5 feet wide cable suspension bridge collapsed. The 143-year-old bridge was built during the British rule.
