The Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has made the approval process for soil digging easier. With this decision of the Hon’ble government, approval for digging up to 3 feet of soil from an area of up to 2 acres can now be taken through WhatsApp messages in the state of Punjab. This information was given by Punjab State Mining and Geology Minister Harjot Singh Bains.
Giving information in this regard. Bains said that it had come to his attention that the then Congress government had given permission for manual extraction of soil up to 3 feet in an area of up to 2 acres under the ‘Sand and Gravel Mining Policy-2021’ in the state. Due to which people had to face a lot of problems and also had to make office rounds. Along with this, if a person used the machine, a case of mining was registered against him.
