On Diwali, not only the lights are lit but also the distances between the hearts are erased by eating sweets together. Today, the same distance was seen to be erased in the security forces of India-Pakistan on the border. The borders of both the countries were opened in the afternoon. Border Security Force personnel and officers and Pak Rangers officers gathered at Zero Line and greeted them.
At 11 am at the border, soldiers of both countries gathered at the zero line. BSF Commandant Jasbir Singh along with other officers and jawans wished the Pakistani Rangers on Diwali. Pakistan Rangers have also expressed their gratitude by giving sweets to the BSF officers and jawans after this. BSF officer Jasbir Singh says that the BSF is committed to maintaining peace where they gave sweets to the Pakistani Rangers.
After the Pulwama attack on February 14, 2019, India-Pakistan relations had soured. The sweet exchange program, which had been running for several years, was discontinued after this date. When the Corona period started, the borders were completely sealed, but from last year 2021, the sweet exchange program was started in both the countries again ignoring the bitterness.
