In Patiala, a 70-year-old man did a shameful act with an 11-year-old girl on the pretext of being his father’s friend. The police of Bakhshiwala police station registered a case against the accused on the statements of the mother of the victim girl and arrested the accused. The accused has been identified as Ram Bachan.
The mother of the victim girl said that her 11-year-old daughter went to play in the neighborhood on October 19, 2022 at around 6 pm. When she came back she was crying and very nervous. On being asked, the girl said that while playing, when she went to buy food from a grocery store located in the area, she met an old uncle there.
He revealed his name as Ram Bachan and said that he was his father’s friend. Later, the old man lured the girl with food and took him to an empty house and raped her. On the basis of this statement, the police have registered a case under the rape and POCSO Act against the accused elderly person. According to the police, the accused was arrested within a few hours of the incident.
