CCI’s big action on Google, hit Rs 1,337 crore. Fine, know the matter

The Competition Commission of India has imposed a fine of Rs 1,337.76 crore on Google. This action is taken to abuse its strong position in the market in the Android mobile device sector.

The CCI has also directed the leading Internet company to cease and desist from unfair business activities. CCI said in a release on Thursday that Google has also been directed to revise the way it works within a specified time frame.

Google operates and manages the Android OS (Android operating system) and licenses its other proprietary applications. Original equipment manufacturers or OEMs use this OS and Google apps on their mobile devices.
