The Punjab State Ministerial staff continued their pen-cutting strike for the second day over the demands. The employees posted in the Civil Surgeon office remained on strike. The employees protested about the demands.
Handicapped certificates, death-birth certificates, dope tests, medical related work, office post offices etc. were affected due to the ministerial staff strike. Due to this, the people who came to get work done in the offices had to return upset. The ministerial staff decided that the Kalam Chhod strike would continue till October 15.
The employees demanded the government to release the arrears of DA installments, amend the Sixth Pay Commission and restore the old pension, fix the raw employees and resume the discontinued allowances.
