A historic decision has been taken in a city of the New York. A street of the city in New York was named as Punjab Avenue to honour Punjabi community which is settled in the New York in large number.

101 Avenue from 111 street to 123 street has been co named as Punjab Avenue. It was inaugurated by Adrienne Admas Council member who had moved motion in this regard in New York City Council.

This area has a large number of shops owned by Punjabis apart from two major Sikh Gurudwaras are situated here. Apart from City Council members and other representatives and large number of community members were present on the occasion.
