Mahindra & Mahindra said on Tuesday that its completely new SUV Thar has received 9,000 bookings within four days of its booking start. The company said in a statement that its booking has started in 18 cities of the country in the first phase. In these cities, test driving and demo performance of SUVs are also available.
VJ Nakra, chief executive officer of the automotive division of Mahindra & Mahindra, said, “Despite the test drive facility for the SUV being available only in 18 cities, we have received 9,000 bookings since the introduction of the new Thar. This is unexpected in the case of this class of vehicles. ”
Mahindra & Mahindra introduced its new Thar last Friday. Its price has been kept from Rs 9.8 lakh to Rs 13.75 lakh (ex-showroom). The company has introduced the new Thar in two models AX and LX.
There are options for both petrol and diesel powertrains. The design and engineering of the SUV has been done entirely in India. It will be prepared at the company’s Nashik plant.
