Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh welcomed Sonia Gandhi’s decision to retain the party’s acting president at a meeting of the Congress Working Committee. He said that this decision of Sonia Gandhi is welcome. With this, Captain Amarinder targeted senior party leaders who wrote letters to Sonia Gandhi.

He said that writing a letter to Sonia Gandhi and making it public is a shameful act. Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh attended the virtual meeting of the ICC Working Committee. While attending this meeting, Chief Minister Amarinder also supported the proposal of former Congress President Rahul Gandhi that the party cannot be left without leadership. Along with this, he also welcomed the decision to set up a committee to assist the acting president of the Congress, Sonia Gandhi.

He also supported former Finance Minister P Chidambaram’s proposal to convene the next session of AICC in the next six months to elect a new Congress President.
