Former cricketer Gopalaswamy Kasturirangan died of a heart attack at his residence here on Wednesday. Vinay Mrityunjaya, treasurer and spokesperson of the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), told, “G. Kasturirangan passed away this morning. He died of a heart attack at his residence in Chamarajapet. ‘
Kasturirangan was 89 years old and he was a former cricketer, administrator and curator of BCCI. Sources in the cricket world said that he played most of his matches as a right-arm fast bowler in the Ranji Trophy from 1948 to 1963 for Mysore.Condoling his death, former India captain Anil Kumble tweeted, “Sad to hear the news of the death of Kasturirangan.
