The tricolor flag will be hoisted by the Federation of Indian Associations…
The Indian tricolor will be hoisted this year for the first time at the prestigious Times Square in New York City, USA on August 15. The tricolor flag will be hoisted by the Federation of Indian Associations (FIA), an organization of Indians living in America. Consul General of India in New York, Randhir Jaiswal will be the chief guest on the occasion. The FIA has said that the Empire State Building will be illuminated with orange, white and green lights on August 14, like every year, with the tricolor being hoisted on Times Square.
This will be the second time in August when Indians will get an opportunity to be proud. Earlier on August 5, on the same Times Square, on the occasion of Ram temple Bhumi Pujan in Ayodhya, pictures of Bhagwan Ram and the proposed temple were shown on the world’s largest LED screen. Now this is going to be the first time that the people of India will get to celebrate the independence of their country at this historic site.
