China is battling with nature these days. More than 52 lakh people have been affected by the floods following the continuous heavy rains. After which 4 lakh people have been shifted to safer places. Meanwhile, the earthquake that hit the north-eastern city of Tangshan on Sunday has reminded people of the previous accident and scared them. The quake measured 5.1 on the Richter scale. However, no casualties were reported in the quake.
According to Chinese state media, 4.3 lakh people have been evacuated from the flood-hit area. Agricultural products in 4.5 lakh hectares have been affected due to floods. In addition to Changshi Province, the situation in Hupei and Hunan Province also remains critical. To ensure safety of life and property of the citizens, the local government has shifted the people to safer places.
