Swarms of locusts entered the NCR region in Gurugram on Saturday from an adjoining district in Haryana.

Houses and trees were covered by locusts in some parts of Gurugram as the swarms continue to advance from west to east with steady wind. It is also likely to reach Delhi.

On Friday, Gurugram administration reportedly warned its residents about the attack.Also urging them to keep their windows shut as precaution.

The administration has asked residents to make clanging noise by beating utensils to ward the insects off.

Swarms of crop-destroying desert locusts have reached Gurugram, right next to national capital Delhi. Residents of Gurugram city and villages in the district shot multiple videos this morning.

Massive swarms of desert locusts have been destroying crops in many parts of western and central India. Locusts enters into Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab now, after Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana.
